Small Pixel or Smallpixel? The Story Behind Our Name
People find us in different ways. Some search for “small pixel” — two words, the way it sounds. Others type “smallpixel” as one word. However you spell it, welcome. You're in the right place.
So Which Is It?
Officially, it's smallpixel — one word, all lowercase, no space. That's how it appears on the App Store, on this website, and in every app we ship.
We went with lowercase because that's what the name is supposed to feel like: quiet, unfussy, and focused on the work rather than the branding around it. If “small pixel” feels more natural to say out loud, we won't correct you — plenty of people write it that way, and honestly, both are fine by us.
Why the Name?
A small pixel is the smallest thing on your screen — but get enough of them right, and you end up with something beautiful. That's the whole philosophy behind our apps. Every icon placement, every animation curve, every default value matters. Small details, done carefully, add up to software that feels simple instead of overwhelming.
It also describes us literally: a genuinely small operation. No office, no team meetings, no product managers. Just an independent developer building tools one careful pixel at a time.
What We Make
Under the smallpixel name — however you spell it — we make apps that respect your privacy:
- Budget Pal — a private budget tracker for iOS. Track income, bills, savings, and debts with multi-currency support and Face ID protection.
- Travel Binder — an all-in-one trip planner for iOS. Itineraries, expenses, documents, packing lists, and a travel journal, fully offline.
Both are £2.99 one-time purchases. No subscriptions, no ads, no accounts. And more apps are on the way.
One Name, Every Platform
Today our apps are on iOS. Next comes Android — same name, same lowercase styling, same privacy-first approach. Desktop companion apps are on the way too. Wherever new small pixel apps appear, they'll always be announced here first.
I'm excited about the future — come along for the ride.
